Decomposed body of hunter found with gunshot wounds in Reg. 2


The body of a 54-year-old hunter was discovered in a decomposed state with gunshot wounds at the Mashabo Village backdam in Region Two, days after he left for hunting.

Dead is Suresh Dyal called ‘Putto’ of Maria Lodge, Essequibo Coast.

Family members are still coming to grips with his tragic death. The News Room understands that Dyal left for hunting on Thursday last and was expected to return Monday.

Relatives revealed that two persons who usually hunt with Dyal contacted them on Monday and informed them that he was shot.

Relatives then ventured to the backdam and spent the entire day searching for Dyal’s body.

“His body was decomposed we see a gunshot to his chest, his head like someone lash he in his head and his grind has a gunshot wound also,” the relative said.

The body was transported to the Suddie Hospital on Tuesday and is now at the Suddie Funeral home awaiting a post-mortem examination.

Dyal lived with his parents and hunting was his favourite hobby.
