    A speeding driver died after he lost control of the car (PSS 3117) he was driving and collided with a concrete bridge early on Thursday morning on the Windsor Forest public road, West Coast Demerara.

    Police Headquarters reported that two children, aged 12 and six, were also injured in the accident which occurred at around 04:15hrs.

    Dead is Kelvin Ghisiawan of Samatta Point, Grove, East Bank Demerara (EBD). The children have been identified as Alyna Deoliver, 12, and Josiemla Mafra, 6, Kaneville, EBD.

    According to the police report, Ghisiawan was proceeding east along the northern side of the road when he lost control, swerved south, drove off the road, and collided with the bridge.

    Ghisiawan was picked up in an unconscious condition by public-spirited citizens and taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

    The children were picked up in conscious conditions and also taken to the same hospital; the 12-year-old was admitted for observation while the six-year-old suffered a broken left leg and injuries about her body.
