Soldier robbed at gunpoint of iPhone 13

Police are on the hunt for two bandits who robbed a 24-year-old soldier of his iPhone 13 PRO valued at $300,000 on Thursday night at South Amelia’s Ward, Mackenzie, Linden.

Shilon Lawrence told the police that the robbery occurred at around 22:20hrs just after he had arrived home and parked his motorcycle.

He told the cops that the secured his jewellery and then went to the veranda to relax when two men – both armed with guns – jumped over and attacked him.

He said one of the bandits was wearing a blue shirt, a three-quarter pants and was armed with a silver handgun, while the other was dressed in pink coloured clothing with his face covered, and armed with a black handgun.

The young soldier said the men hit him in his head with their firearms and took away his phone and the keys to the motorcycle; the suspect in the blue shirt discharged a shot in the air.

They both escaped on foot in an eastern direction. The matter was reported to the police and one suspected .32 spent shell was recovered at the scene. Investigations are ongoing.
