Residents of Experiment in Bath, West Coast Berbice (WCB) have been affected by a “freak storm” that damaged buildings and power lines. Some sections of the community are also flooded.

Davie Persaud, a resident of the Bath squatting area, told the News Room that there has been heavy rainfall in the area for several days now. The downpour, she said, intensified on Friday night.

Persaud noted that in other parts of the community, houses have been damaged. Some rooftops have blown off while some wooden houses recorded greater damage.

Meanwhile, information provided by the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) of Region Five stated that Vice Chairman Rion Peters has been assessing the situation.
