More patients in COVID ICU; new infections climb

There are now three patients receiving critical care in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), as the number of new COVID-19 infections have been climbing over the past few days.

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Health reported 42 new COVID-19 infections via its daily COVID-19 dashboard. These new cases were recorded after 743 tests were done.

And the new cases were recorded from: Region Three (four cases), Region Four (24 cases), Region Six (13 cases) and Region Seven (one case).

Additionally, three more people have been infected with the novel coronavirus, taking the total number of cases recorded locally to 63,628.  Importantly, though, no additional deaths were recorded. As such, the overall death toll remained at 1,228.

There are three patients in institutional isolation, four people in institutional quarantine and 150 people in home isolation.

With 15 new recoveries, the total number of people who recovered after they were infected increased to 62, 244.
