The autopsy performed on Shaziah Hoosain, the 44-year-old woman who died in an accident along the Hand-En-Veldt Public Road, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara on Monday, found that her death was caused by multiple injuries consistent with a motor vehicle accident.

Police Headquarters reported that the autopsy was conducted on Wednesday at the Memorial Gardens funeral home by government pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh.

After the autopsy, the body was handed over to the relatives for funeral arrangements.

According to the police report issued on Monday, Hoosain was one of four occupants in motorcar PJJ 485 when it lost control and crashed into a culvert.

The car was being driven by 22-year-old Saif Arjune who police say was reportedly speeding.

A breathalyser test showed his alcohol level to be .186 per cent and .183 per cent.

Arjune was proceeding east along the road at about 00:15hrs when he lost control. Arjune was injured along with two other occupants who were identified as 19-year-old Arfeen Arjune and a 16-year-old boy.
