Rain washes out final day of Harpy Eagles prep

Thursday was billed as the final day of the Guyana Harpy Eagles Four-Day practice game at the National Stadium, Providence, however, persistent rainfall prevented any action in the middle.

The coaching staff opted to focus on different aspects of training ahead of the restart of the Regional Four-Day Championship later this month, but that was also kept to a minimal due to the rainfall.

SUMMARY: Tagenarine Chanderpaul’s XI 119 (Chanderpaul 22, Kemol Savory 19; Junior Sinclair 4-44, Demetri Cameron 3-23) and 346 (Chanderpaul 163, Savory 49, Kevin Sinclair 33, Gudakesh Motie 31; Joshua Jones 3-35, Junior Sinclair 2-49, Keemo Paul 1-18) versus Leon Johnson’s XI 202 (Anthony Bramble 77, Vishaul Singh 50, Paul 24; Ronsford Beaton 3-41, Motie 3-43) and 171-8 (Tevin Imlach 55, Clinton Pestano 34*, Paul 21, Bramble 20; Beaton 5-60; Kevin Sinclair 1-22).

The game was the last bit of competitive action for the Harpy Eagles, who head off to Trinidad and Tobago for the final three rounds of the Championship, starting May 18.

Harpy Eagles will play Barbados Pride from May 18-21 at the Queen’s Park Oval; Jamaica Scorpions from May 25-28 at Diego Martin and Trinidad and Tobago Red Force from June 1-4 at the Oval.

Harpy Eagles currently have 21.4 points and are fourth on the standings. An unbeaten Pride team heads the standings with 42.0 points.
