Teen, uncle arrested after ganja found at businessman’s house
Police on the East Coast of Demerara have arrested a 17-year-old schoolboy and his uncle after a small quantity of marijuana was discovered at the home of a 65-year-old businessman at Middle Walk, Buxton, East Coast Demerara.
According to a release from Police Headquarters, the illegal drugs were discovered in 22 ziplock bags and weighed 37.2 grams (1.3 ounces).
The businessman has been identified as Clairmonte Barnes called ‘Rastaman’ and ‘Chubby’, who is presently before the court for possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
Police ranks conducted a search at Barnes’ home when the marijuana was discovered.
The teenager and the uncle were at house at the time of the operation and as such, they were arrested.
Investigations are ongoing.
