Berbice and Essequibo emerged victorious in the second round of the Guyana Cricket Board’s Senior Female Inter-County T20 competition on Saturday at the Everest ground.
Unbeaten Berbice trounced Demerara by eight wickets, while Essequibo rebounded from a first round defeat to outplay the Select XI by 23 runs.

Berbice defeated Demerara by eight wickets. Demerara 74-7 from 20 overs (Cherry Ann Fraser 16, Extras 13; Plaffiana Millington 3-10) vs Berbice 75-2 from 15.1 overs (Sherica Campbelle 26, Katana Mentore 19*; Mandy Mangru 1-11, Latisha Jordon 1-12)
Essequibo defeated the Select XI by 23 runs. Essequibo 107-4 from 20 overs (Kumarie Persaud 43, Extras 28; Karishma Ramnauth 1-11, Niveena Ramnauth 1-18, Kimberly Sookdeo 1-18, Jamie Campbell 1-21) vs Select XI 84-7 from 20 overs (Extras 29, Sarah Amin 17; Nafeeza Sabar 3-12, Analesia D’Aguiar 2-18.
The third round of the competition will be played on Monday at the Everest ground with Berbice against the Select XI and Demerara facing Essequibo.
Upon completion of this T20 tournament, the teams will clash in the 50-over segment after which a Guyana team will be selected to participate in the Regional Women’s tournament, slated to be played in Guyana in June.
