An argument over a parking spot at D’Andrade Street, Kitty, Georgetown, on Monday morning has left three people nursing stab wounds and two of them are hospitalised.

Those injured are 36-year-old Kinray Joseph, a Rural Constable; Kennedy Barky, 34, a taxi driver and 51-year-old Gordon Branch, also a taxi driver.

According to the police report, Joseph who lives with his mother at D’Andrade Street, attempted to make peace between Branch and Barky when he was injured.

Police said Branch was at the location to drop off his ‘box money’ to Joseph’s mother and parked his car blocking the entrance to the yard.

Barky, who rents an apartment in the yard, started using explicit language and “asked Branch how he is going to park his car and block the entrance.”

An argument then ensued between the two during which Joseph heard and came out to make peace.

According to the police, during the argument, Barky pulled out a knife and stabbed Joseph several times about his body and neck.

When Branch intervened and tried to separate them, he too was stabbed in his right hand.

Branch then went to his car, took out a cutlass and chopped Barky to his left hand.

The matter was reported to the Kitty Police Station and all three men were taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital.

Barky and Joseph were admitted while Branch was treated and sent away. Investigations are ongoing.
