Kohli struck 73 off 44 balls (8x4s, 2x6s) to lead the victory charge, adding 115 in 14.3 overs for the first wicket with skipper Faf du Plessis, who made 44 off 38 (5x4s).

After both were dismissed by Rashid Khan (2-32), Glenn Maxwell cracked 40* off 18 (5x4s, 2x6s) to complete the win.

Earlier, Hardik Pandya struck 62 off 47 (4x4s, 3x6s), his fourth fifty of the season, as Gujarat Titans made 168-5. David Miller made 34 off 25 (3x6s), Wriddhiman Saha 31 off 22 (4x4s, 1×6) and Rashid 19* off 6 (1×4, 2x6s).

Josh Hazlewood picked up 2-39.

IPL action continues on Friday with Rajasthan Royals playing Chennai Super Kings from 10:00h.
