With the loss of three children to an early-morning fire at their Lot 10 Field Barnwell house, located aback Mocha on the East Bank of Demerara (EBD), President Dr. Irfaan Ali is pleading with Guyanese everywhere to uplift the grieving mother with prayers and positive thoughts.

The Head of State met with Tracy Flur, the children’s mother, at the Eve Leary police ground on Thursday afternoo hours after the unfortunate incident. There, he sought to reassure the inconsolable woman that he was ready to support her.

Later, while providing brief comments to members of the media, President Ali said that he first wants to help the family cope with their grief before addressing other avenues of redress.

“We can only uplift them in prayers,” Dr. Ali said, calling on Guyanese to uplift the woman with prayers and positive messages.

The early Thursday morning blaze claimed the lives of eight-year-old Timothy Kippins, six-year-old Triston Kippins, and one-year-old Zhalia Flur, who were all trapped in the one-storey wooden building. Their mother, a security guard, was at work at the time of the fire.
