    Unvaccinated woman, 66, dies from COVID; 44 new cases

    An unvaccinated woman, who was 66 years old and lived in Region Four (Demerara- Mahaica), died on May 27, according to the Ministry of Health.

    With this woman’s death, there have now been a total of 1,233 COVID-19 deaths since March 2020.

    Additionally, another 44 people were infected with the novel coronavirus, taking the total number of cases recorded since March 2020 to 64,565. Those positive cases were recorded from 780 tests.

    The new cases were recorded in the following regions: Region Two (eight cases); Region Three (six cases); Region Four (28 cases) and Region Ten (two cases).

    Meanwhile, there are now two patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 21 patients in institutional isolation and 576 patients are in home isolation.

    To date, 62, 6733 people have recovered.
