Hypertensive, epileptic man found dead in trench on Mandela Avenue

The body of a 68-year-old man was discovered in a trench early on Monday along Mandela Avenue in Georgetown.

Dead is Clive Lawrence Primus of Durban Street, Lodge. According to a statement from Police Headquarters the man suffered from high blood pressure and seizures.

The body was discovered face down at about 07:30hrs. Primus left his home on Sunday at about 17:00hrs on his bicycle and was not seen or heard from since.

Police said he was wearing a black and red pants and a brown and green stripe jersey. His bicycle was also found in the trench.

The dead man’s wife told police that even though they were separated and Primus was living with his brother, they were still in contact and he would normally visit her.

Police said no marks of violence were seen on the body.

The body was taken to the Memorial Gardens Mortuary awaiting an autopsy.
