A 22-year-old Police Constable of Belle West Housing Scheme, West Bank Demerara, is currently admitted in a stable condition at the West Demerara Regional Hospital following an accident along the Patentia Public Road, West Bank Demerara, on Saturday night.
Police said at about 22:43hrs the police rank, Robindra Persaud, was driving motor car PKK 1590 at a fast rate when he lost control and slammed into motor car PZZ 999, which was parked on the side of the road.
Following the collision, Persaud was removed from the vehicle in an unconscious state by public-spirited citizens and taken to West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was admitted a patient.
The vehicle is lodged at Wales Police Station to be examined by a licensing and certifying officer.
