The newly-elected executive of the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) has confirmed its schedule of activities for the remainder of 2022, and key among the plans is the return of the highly anticipated International race meet in November.

Last held in 2019, and put on hold the following two years owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the November race meet is the marquee event on the local motor-racing calendar.

In a recently released schedule, the GMR&SC has earmarked November 13 for the International Circuit race at the South Dakota Circuit.

It is understood several overseas competitors have expressed an interest in travelling to Guyana for what would be the penultimate activity on the local schedule.

Next up on the calendar is the second round of the three-hour Endurance Series on June 19. The first round was the season opener in February.

On July 17, action switches to round two of the Circuit Racing Series. Round one was held in March.

Local and international Drag Racing will then take centre stage, with rounds two and three set for August 21 and October 16. Round on took place in March.

Round Three of the three-hour Endurance Series will close off the season on December 11.

All activities will be held at the South Dakota Circuit and dates are also subject to change, the GMR&SC said.
