Gun, appliances among items stolen from Kitty woman

A Taurus revolver and several electrical appliances are among items stolen from the house of a 67-year-old Kitty, Georgetown woman.

Police Headquarters reported that the incident occurred between Saturday and Tuesday when the woman secured her Pere Street house and travelled to Bartica, Region Seven.

The firearm, one 32 inch television, a stereo set valued at $200,000, two portable air conditioner units valued at $300,000, two gas cylinders valued at $20,000  and one electric drill were allegedly stolen from the property.

According to Police Headquarters, the woman discovered a glass door – located on the eastern side of the house – opened when she returned home.

The 67-year-old woman then made checks inside and discovered the items, including the firearm, which belonged to her husband, missing.

Officers who processed the scene were able to determine that entry and exit were gained from the aforementioned glass door.

Several people in the area were questioned but no useful information was received. Investigations are ongoing.
