Woman, 50, dies from COVID; 95 new cases recorded

A 50-year-old woman from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) is the country’s latest COVID-19 death.
The Ministry of Health on Saturday reported that the woman, who was partially vaccinated, died on Friday. She is the first recorded death for June.

This means that since March 2020, 1, 238 people have died.

Meanwhile, 95 new cases were recorded from 1, 362 tests, taking the overall number of confirmed cases to 65, 243.

The new cases were recorded in the following regions; Region One (three cases), Region Two (11 cases), Region Three (15 cases), Region Four (55 cases), Region Five (one case), Region Six (two cases) and Region Seven (eight cases).

There is one patient in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit, 28 patients are in institutional isolation and 856 are in home isolation.

To date, 63, 120 people have recovered from the virus.
