Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a so far unidentified man at Self Help Square, East Ruimveldt, Georgetown.
The body was discovered with a gunshot wound on the left side abdomen at about 03:05hrs.
Police said one .40 spent shell was recovered about six feet south of the body.
Police Headquarters reported that the dead man was found clad in a black short pants, a multi-coloured shirt and a blue sweater; he is sporting dreadlocks hair with a black toque on his head.
A black and red Jordan haversack containing two bottles of Hennessey, two male colognes, two male body sprays, two knives, and $18,860 local currency was also found next to the body. The police further noted that CCTV cameras is expected to be reviewed.
The body is presently at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
