A Boat Captain was Monday morning found dead inside a fuel tank on a boat at the David Shurland Wharf at Adventure along the Essequibo Coast. Dead is Saigon Hopkinson, 28, of Bartica, Region Seven.
Police in Region Two (Pomeroon – Supenaam) have since launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
Regional Commander Shivpersaud Bacchus said ranks are on the ground investigating.
The News Room understands that the man usually transports fuel for a prominent gas station on the Essequibo Coast.
Persons who work with the man said he could not be reached on Monday and after several calls went unanswered, they checked the vessel and discovered him dead.
