Drunk driver dies after crashing pickup
An accident on the Good Hope, Mahaica Access Road on the East Coast of Demerara on Thursday night resulted in the death of 25-year-old Jeuwel Ramall, a rice farmer of Mahaica.
Police Headquarters reported that Ramlall was consuming alcohol with a friend at a shop in Mahaica after which he drove off in PNN 6104 at a “fast rate of speed.”
The police report noted that he then lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a nearby trench at around 23:30hrs; he was removed from the vehicle in an unconscious condition and taken to the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The body is presently lying at the Jerrick’s Funeral Home awaiting an autopsy.
