Pakistan inflicted a 120-run thrashing on West Indies in the second One-Day International (ODI) on Friday in Multan to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Half-centuries from Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq formed the foundation of Pakistan’s 275-8, before West Indies collapsed to 155 all out in 32.2 overs.

Shaheen Shah Afridi dismissed the in-form Shai Hope off the final delivery of the first over for four, and despite a partnership of 67 between Kyle Mayers and Shamarh Brooks, West Indies never really challenged the target.

Brooks topscored with 42 and Mayers made 33 in a disappointing batting display that saw Nicholas Pooran (25) being the only other batsman to get a start.

Left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz took career-best figures of 4-19, while Mohammad Wasim picked up 3-34 and Shadab Khan 2-40.

Earlier, West Indies made a remarkable comeback with the ball as Pakistan slipped from 145-1 in the 28th over.

Babar Azam missed out on a fourth consecutive ODI ton, falling for 77 off 93 balls (5x4s, 1×6), while Imam-ul-Haq scored a run-a-ball 72 (6x4s).

Left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein picked up 3-52, while Alzarri Joseph had 2-33 and Anderson Philip 2-50.

The final game is on Sunday from 07:00h.
