An accident on the Washer Pond Public Road in MacKenzie, Linden on Wednesday morning resulted in the death of Shawn Deputron, a 50-year-old man of One Mile, Wismar, Linden.
Police Headquarters reported that Deputron was driving motorcycle CL 4030 south along the eastern side of the road when he lost control at a “slight bend” and collided with a rail at around 05:30hrs.
According to the police, Deputron was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident; he was picked up in an unconscious state by public-spirited persons and taken to the Mackenzie Hospital Complex, where he died while receiving treatment.
The matter was reported to police at about 05:50hrs. Investigations are ongoing.
