Farmer, 79, dies in Charity accident

A 79-year-old farmer of Adams Creek, Pomeroon River in Region Two died after he was struck down on the Charity Public Road on Friday.

Dead is Chooman Lall called ‘Cyril’.

The News Room understands that Lall was walking on the road when he was struck down at about 10:00hrs.

According to reports, Lall took vegetables to the market to sell and was going to purchase groceries when the accident occurred.

He was rushed to the Charity Oscar Joseph Hospital by the driver of the minibus and pronounced dead.

The driver is currently in police custody.

Lall was described as a wonderful person. His body is currently at the Charity Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
