The President, Executives and Members of the Albion Community Centre Cricket Club (ACCCC) have extended congratulations to Gudakesh Motie on his Test debut for the West Indies.

Motie became the sixth Albion cricketer to play Test cricket when he represented the West Indies in the Test match against Bangladesh in Antigua, which the West Indies won by seven wickets on Sunday morning.

“We are again very excited as a Club, and are proud of young Motie’s elevation to the status of being a Test cricketer; and we would like to congratulate him on this achievement. It was no surprise to us at Albion that Motie will one day be representing the West Indies at the highest level. When he joined the Club as a six-year old, 21 years ago, we had no doubt that he will one day play Test cricket,” Vemen Walter, President of the Albion Community Centre Cricket Club, said.

Walter further stated, “Without any doubt, we are very confident that he will have a long and outstanding career at the international level and we would like to wish him well.”

Motie has now joined Sew Shiwnaraine, Narsingh Deonarine, Sewnarine Chattergoon, Devendra Bishoo and Veerasammy Permaul as being Albion cricketers who have played Test cricket.

“Motie’s achievement is another demonstration of the outstanding work the Albion Community Centre Cricket Club has been doing. It will also serve as a tremendous motivator not only to Albion cricketers, but to all members, inclusive of the ACCCC executives, who are known to work beyond the call of duty,” Walter concluded.
