Man, 75, is latest COVID-19 death; 15 new cases reported

A fully vaccinated 75-year-old man who lived in Region Three (Essequibo Islands- West Demerara) died on Monday and is Guyana’s latest COVID-19 death, the Ministry of Health reported.

With this death, Guyana has recorded a total of 1,248 deaths since March 2020.

Meanwhile, another 15 new cases were recorded after 233 tests were completed.

With these new infections, the total number of cases recorded since March 2020 has increased to 66,506.

The new cases were recorded in the following regions: Region Two (five cases), Region Three (two cases) and Region Four (eight cases).

Meanwhile, there are two patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 26 patients are in institutional isolation, and 868 patients are in home isolation.

To date, 64, 362 people have recovered.
