Relatives of 29-year-old Devor Naughton and Sherwin Adolphus, 18, of Hackney, Pomeroon River, were up to Monday desperately searching for the men after they went missing following a collision on the river Sunday afternoon.

A relative, Jivianna Freeman, told the News Room that they fear both men died after their boat collided with a fishing vessel on the Pomeroon River at about 17:00hrs.

Freeman said, Norton, a father of two, and Adolphus, a father of one, were always together. They both worked as gold miners and were returning home when the accident occurred.

“They [are] very nice persons, they are always together.

“Only yesterday they talk to us and tell we they coming in and to get a call that they died, it is really heartbreaking,” Freeman said.
