112 new COVID-19 cases recorded


The Ministry of Health on Friday reported that 112 new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded from 804 tests conducted over a 24-hour period.

The new cases were recorded in the following regions: Region One (four), Region Two (12), Region Three (14), Region Four (73), Region Six (four), Region Seven (two) and Region Ten (three).

With the new cases, the overall number of confirmed cases since the virus was first detected in Guyana in March 2020 has increased to 66,947.

There are two patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 20 patients are in institutional isolation, and 862 patients are in home isolation.

To date, 64,814 people have recovered.
