Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha strongly condemns the lawless and vicious attacks, looting and robbery that occurred yesterday on the East Coast Demerara, including Lusignan and Mon Repos Markets by an unruly mob that resulted in the loss of livelihood and injuries to many hardworking people.
While there is a right to protest, it cannot be used to create havoc and harm to citizens carrying on their regular business and lives.
We urge that the perpetrators of these atrocious acts face the full force of the law and that people be assured of safety and security in their daily life.
We offer our support to those who would have lost and been hurt and harmed in any way
