Athlete Chantoba Bright and swimmer Raekwon Noel etched their names in history, becoming the first two Guyanese to win medals at the inaugural Caribbean Games in Guadeloupe.

Competing on Friday, they both copped a bronze medal in their respective event.

Noel finished third in the Men’s 100m Butterfly, and Bright did same in the Women’s Long Jump event.

“It feels good to medal. I feel excited about what’s to come. Looking forward to great things from my other teammates,” Noel told News Room Sport moments after his performance.

Earlier in the day, the 3×3 Men’s Basketball team defeated Guadeloupe 16-10. They were down to play Cuba later on Friday, but that and the other scheduled games had to be postponed due to bad weather.
