Guyana secured a team medal at the inaugural Caribbean Games, with the Men’s 3×3 Basketball team emerging victorious in the bronze medal game on Saturday evening in Guadeloupe.
The Guyanese- Stanton Rose, Timothy Thompson, Kimol Grimmond and Yonnick Tappin- combined to defeat Cuba 14-9.
It was sweet revenge for the Guyanese, who lost to the Cubans in the preliminary round on Saturday morning.

Guyana has also secured four individual medals thus far with Joanna Archer winning silver in the Women’s 800m, and three bronze coming from Chantoba Bright (Women’s Long Jump), Raekwon Noel (Men’s 100m Butterfly) and Zara Crane (Women’s 200m Breaststroke).
The Caribbean Games is being hosted for the first time with Under-23 athletes in seven disciplines.
Guyana is being represented in 3×3 Basketball, Athletics and Swimming.
