Police have detained a third suspect in the brutal murder of 86-year-old Agnes Dillon, a pensioner of Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara.
The News Room understands that it is the third suspect who has reportedly confessed to the heinous crime.
Two persons were initially arrested on Friday in connection with the murder.
Dillion was found lying in a pool of blood at her house on June 30, 2022 with suspected stab wounds to her left and right upper chest and suspected chop wounds to her right hand and right side face.
The initial police report said she was murdered between 17:30hrs on June 29 and midday on June 30.
The elderly woman lived alone in the lower flat of a two-storey wooden house; the upper flat is occupied by the landlord.
