Gold miner jailed for one year, fined $603k for 402 grams ganja find

A 37-year-old gold miner of Nottinghamshire, Linden (Region 10) was jailed for one year and fined $603, 600 for trafficking 402 grams of marijuana.

Robert Vyphuis appeared before Magistrate Wanda Fortune at the Linden Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday and pleaded guilty to the charge.

Vyphuis was arrested on July 03, after police ranks attached to the Mabura Police Outpost intercepted him on a motorcycle.

“A search was carried out on the man’s person and his belongings during which a bulky transparent plastic bag containing a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be narcotics was found on the motorcycle,” Police Headquarters said in a statement.
