Region Seven man, 55, is latest COVID fatality

A 55-year-old Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) man is the latest COVID-19 fatality.

According to the Ministry of Health’s daily COVID-19 dashboard, the unvaccinated man died on July 7, taking the number of COVID-19 deaths to 1,259.

Meanwhile, a total of 91 new COVID-19 cases were recorded after 708 tests were done. With the new cases, Guyana’s overall number of confirmed cases increased to 68,020.

The new cases were recorded in Region One (three cases), Region Two (nine cases), Region Three (five cases), Region Four (58 cases), Region Five (one cases), Region Seven (six cases), Region Nine (five cases) and Region Ten (four cases).

There are four patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit and 35 patients in institutional isolation; 801 are in home isolation.

To date, 65, 884 people have recovered.
