A 19-year-old mechanic of Stevedore Housing Scheme, North Ruimveldt was stabbed by two masked men in the wee hours of Friday.
Police identified the injured man as Nichlous Niles Greeves. He is currently a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital and his condition is listed as stable.
Police Headquarters, in a statement on Saturday, noted that at about 00:35 hours, Greeves was in the company of three friends and they were walking from Meadow Brook Drive, Georgetown.
As they approached Lodge Housing Scheme, Greeves stopped to urinate and was attacked by two perpetrators who approached from behind while his friends proceeded ahead of him.
A scuffle ensued and one of the perpetrators who was armed with a scissors stabbed Greeves twice, once to his face and under his arm.
He raised an alarm and his friends came to his rescue. The two perpetrators managed to escape on foot.
Greeves was rushed to the Georgetown Hospital where he was treated by a doctor on duty and admitted as a patient in the Male Ward.
