Valuables belonging to Surinamese businessman stolen from car outside Umana Yana

A Surinamese businessman who came to Guyana on a business trip lost cash and other valuables he left in a car outside the Umana Yana on Thursday night.

A police statement noted that at about 21:00 hours, 53-year-old Rakeesh Kalloe parked his vehicle and went into the Pegasus Hotel for dinner.

When he returned at about 23:00 hours, it was observed that the back window glass was broken.

The perpetrators removed one brown leather bag valued at US$800, which contained his vaccination document, one black wallet valued $50 Euros, one entrance visa, one silver grey Lenovo laptop valued $800 Euros, and one bottle of Hennessey whiskey valued US$70.

The businessman immediately made a report to the Police.
