Two persons were arrested on Sunday at Mahdia, Region Eight (Potaro-Siparuni) as police investigators probe the illegal landing of a foreign aircraft in the interior region.
When contacted by the News Room, Senior police officers in the division confirmed the arrest and said that an investigation was underway.
No other details, including what was found on the plane, were immediately forthcoming.
It is suspected that the plane, pilot, and passenger are from a neighbouring country in South America.
If nothing illegal is found, those arrested could still be charged for illegal landing.
