Hemraj smashes 16 sixes in US Minor League game
Guyana Amazon Warriors opener Chandrapaul Hemraj on Sunday went on a six-hitting spree, racking up the highest individual score in the Atlantic Conference of US Minor League Cricket.
Playing for New Jersey Somerset Cavaliers, the left-hander smashed 16 sixes and a solitary four in a magnificent 130 off 54 balls to lead his side to a mammoth 233-4 off the stipulated 20 overs against Empire State Titans.
Hemraj dominated an opening stand of 160 with Abhishek Prabhu, who made a run-a-ball 42 (1×4, 2x6s), and then added 47 for the second wicket with former West Indies batsman Xavier Marshall, who scored 41 off 18 balls (1x4s, 4x6s).
Ariful Haque took 2-49 for Empire State Titans, who responded with 160-9 when the overs finished.
Gauranshu Sharma topscored with 42 off 25, Usman Ashraf scored 40 off 29 and Haque made 39 from 20.
Imrul Hashib took 3-32, Najaf Shah 2-21 and Umaid Asif 2-33.
