One COVID death, 91 new cases recorded


A 79-year-old man from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica) is the latest COVID-19 fatality, the Health Ministry reported on Wednesday.

The man died on July 12 taking the overall COVID-19 death toll since March 2020 to 1,264.

Meanwhile, 91 new COVID-19 cases were recorded from a total of 52 tests conducted.

The new cases were recorded in Region One (five cases), Region Two (12 cases), Region Three (five cases), Region Four (37 cases), Region Five (one cases), Region Seven (four cases), and Region Nine (27 cases).

There are four patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit and 31 patients in institutional isolation; 842 are in home isolation.

To date, 68,500 people have recovered.
