World Championship: Archibald clocks fastest time in Men’s 100m prelim

Guyanese Emanuel Archibald made an impressive start to the World Athletics Championship in Oregon, winning his Heat in the Men’s 100m prelim.

The Olympian clocked 10.31 seconds, which incidentally was the fastest time in the preliminary round. He will run again, in the Heats later on Friday evening. Archibald, who has a Personal Best of 10.18s, is the country’s fastest runner at 100m.

Archibald apart, Guyana is being represented at the World Championship by the Abrams sister, Aliyah and Jasmine. Aliyah will compete in the Women’s 400m, while Jasmine will line up in the Women’s 100m.
