Suspected cocaine, ganja found in abandoned Pouderoyen yard


A quantity of suspected cocaine and ganja was found in an abandoned yard at Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara on Sunday.

Police ranks conducted an intelligence-led operation and found a transparent plastic bag containing a rock-like substance suspected to be cocaine; the bag also contained a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems of the ganja plant.

The bag was hidden under pieces of wood.

The contents of the bag were taken to the La Parfaite Harmonie Police Station, where the suspected cannabis was weighed and amounted to 23 grammes. The suspected cocaine was also weighed and it amounted to nine grammes.

The police are still investigating the find.
