Excel Guyana has announced that it is the first Guyanese company to earn Integrated Management Systems (IMS) Certification from SGS through the certification of the company’s activities to the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, the ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, and the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems.

“By investing in ISO processes and implementing an Integrated Management System, Excel Guyana is leading the way into a more sustainable and prosperous future for all Guyanese businesses. These systems help build trust through continuity in customer service, employee safety, and sustainability initiatives,” Kris Sammy, Chief Executive Officer of Excel Guyana is quoted as saying in a press release from the company.

Adopting an Integrated Management System within Excel Guyana Inc. has allowed the company to eliminate duplication by having a single Management System that addresses the requirements of three International Standards, the company said.

This is evident within the company’s stringent documented information including the IMS Manual, Policy, Operations Procedures, Work Instructions, and Documented Databases and Records, the press release noted.

For example, the organization implemented essential systems that focus on the Identification, Control, and Management of Safety Hazards & Risks, Environmental Aspects, and Organizational Risks & Opportunities.

Excel’s Chief Operating Officer, Michael Smith is quoted as saying “Excel has a track record of providing high value services to our customers and partners, using our time-tested systems that have been in place for years. Achieving this IMS certification further validates that these systems are at par with international standards and demonstrates our commitment to strong management practices, which also boosts the confidence of our employees and our partners.”

More importantly, the company said the strategy of differentiating the company’s position with the Integrated Management System has provided them with several distinct advantages:

Ensuring Clients’ satisfaction within our Business Services including Procurement, Recruitment and Public Relations activities.
