One COVID death, 114 new cases

A 68-year-old woman from Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) is the latest COVID-19 fatality, the Ministry of Health reported on Wednesday.

The woman died on July 18 taking the total number of deaths from the pandemic since March 2020 to 1,268.

Meanwhile, a total of 114 additional persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours after 841 tests were conducted.

The new cases were recorded in Region One (six cases), Region Two (two cases), Region Three (Nine cases), Region Four (70 cases), Region Five (five cases), Region Six (eight case), Region Seven (five cases), and Region Nine (nine cases).

There are three patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 31 patients are in institutional isolation and 874 patients are in home isolation.

To date, 66,996 people have recovered.
