Direct flights between Guyana and Cuba have started

There is now a direct flight between Guyana and Cuba.

Fly All Ways Airlines will operate the route once weekly with a 180-seater aircraft.

The airline had its inaugural flight on Saturday. On board was Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Guyana Ambassador Elisabeth Harper, Director of the Guyana Tourism Authority Kamrul Baksh, Chairman of the Transport Advisory Board Rosalinda Rasul and senior officials of the airline.

A formal ceremony was held at the Jose Marti International Airport in Havana.

At the ceremony, Guyana’s Ambassador to Cuba, Halim Majeed and several high-level Cuban and Regional officials were present and offered high praise for the initiative.
