Heliconia restaurant backs U-15 cricketer Shane Prince
Heliconia Restaurant and Bar has thrown its support behind promising fast-bowler Shane Prince, who was selected to the Guyana Under-15 cricket team for the upcoming Regional tournament in Grenada.
In a simple presentation at their Robb and Camp Street location, the management expressed elation to support from such a young age, noting they have seen his desire and passion for the sport as a hallmark to success.
According to a release, they wished Prince well and challenged him to be one of the standout players in the tournament and continue to work hard at improving his skills.
The young man thanked Heliconia for their support and promised he will heed their words of advice, and accepted the challenge, noting, “I want to help my country win titles.”
The Regional Under-15 tournament will be played in Grenada from August 18 – 28.
Guyana Under-15 squad: Dave Mohabir (captain), Romario Ramdehol (Vice-captain), Adrian Hetmyer, Shane Prince, Zandon Rose, Durwin La Rose, Dhanesh Persaud, Arun Gainda, Navin Boodwah, Arif Khan, Razam Koobir, Nicholas Lovell, Sohail Mohamed, and Jonathan Mentore.
The standbys are Omrion Smith, Mikle Sharma, Nicholas Hall, Thierry Henry, Elis Ramdat, and Enrique Mickle.
The manager is Elroy Stephany and Coach Latchman Yadram.
