Man, 33, found dead along La Penitence Public Road

Rodwell Philips, also called Fishie, a 33-year-old mason of Broad Street, Charlestown, Georgetown was found dead on the La Penitence Public Road early Monday morning.

Police Headquarters reported that a cutlass was found next to the man’s body.

The incident occurred sometime between 00:30 hrs and 01:00 hrs.

Several chop wounds were identified all over the man’s body.

Police said it was visible at the centre of his chest, to the right side of his face, at his left side back and to his left foot.

The body was pronounced dead at the scene and was escorted to the Memorial Gardens funeral home, pending an autopsy.

Meanwhile, it was reported that several persons were reportedly questioned in the area. Officers are expected to review CCTV footage.

Investigations are in progress.
