Labourer, 18, was chased, beaten and stabbed to death – Eyewitness tells police

An 18-year-old labourer identified as Jude Christino was stabbed to death during a heated argument on Wednesday at Kumaka Water Front, Mabaruma, North West District.

According to a statement from Police Headquarters, at about 02:00 hrs, Christino and two males were seen arguing. As he tried to run away, both males gave chase and started to beat him.

An eyewitness told police that one of the men then pulled out a knife and stabbed Christino to his neck, causing him to stumble and fall.

They both escaped in an eastern direction, leaving the victim lying motionless.

Police were summoned and Christino was escorted to the Mabaruma Regional Hospital where he was = pronounced dead. The body was placed in the hospital mortuary where it is awaiting a post mortem examination.

Two persons have been arrested and are in custody assisting with investigations.
