Four seriously injured in Windsor Castle accident

Four persons were seriously injured on Thursday after being involved in an accident along the Windsor Castle Public Road on the Essequibo Coast.

They are Bhola Ramdiall, a 54-year-old mechanic of Hampton Court; Krishnan Persaud, a 33-year-old self-employed man of Dunkel; Tony Jupiter, 32-year-old of Dartmouth Village and Eon Singh 29-year-old also Dunkel on the Essequibo Coast.

Lindsay Smith, 63, is the hire car driver of Anna Regina who escaped unhurt.

According to the police, at about 17:30 hrs, motorcar PSS 7002 was driving at a normal rate along the road while the hire car HB 6392, was trailing in the same direction.

Meanwhile, motorcar PAB 1932 came up behind both vehicles, at a fast rate and attempted to overtake the hire car.

Whilst in the process, the driver collided with the back wheel of Smith’s vehicle and then lost control of the car. He ended up colliding with the rear of motorcar PSS 7002. As a result of the collision, the hire car came to a stop.

Motorcar PSS 7002 ended up in a drain and motorcar PAB 1932 toppled several times before coming to a halt in a nearby trench.

The driver of motorcar PAB 1932 and the occupants along with the driver of motorcar PSS 7002 were assisted by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Oscar Joseph Public Hospital.

They were seen and examined by a doctor on duty who treated Singh for a fractured shoulder. Jupiter and Ramdiall were both treated for lacerations to their heads, and Persaud was treated for internal injuries.

They were later escorted to the Suddie Public Hospital where they were admitted as patients.
