On 2022-08-05 between 17:00 hrs and 18:30 hrs, the Commissioner of Police (ag), Mr. Clifton Hicken, resuscitated the Hinterland Intelligence Committee (HIC) by hosting a meeting in his Conference Room, Police Headquarters, Eve Leary, Georgetown.

The meeting was primarily aimed at promoting a conducive atmosphere for the sharing of information among key stakeholders with responsibilities for Guyana’s Hinterland Regions, which can be processed into intelligence that will guide policy decisions.

Given the geographic layouts of the Hinterland Regions and the many challenges they pose, this intervention by the Top COP and his Team was not only timely, but necessary to guarantee safer communities by bolstering their security infrastructures through a partnership approach among the key stakeholders.
