The body of a Hogg Island farmer, identified as Romeo Persaud aka ‘Fineboy’, was found floating in the Essequibo River at about 08:00 hrs Sunday morning.
According to information reaching the News Room, the man’s mouth was taped.
Persaud was last seen with his speedboat on Friday, August 05. He left the Island to conduct business but never returned.
Relatives suspect foul play in his death.
He was a father of two children and lived at Tuschen, West Coast Demerara with his wife.
Police detectives have launched a probe into the man’s initial disappearance and subsequent death.
